BACK IN DEAR OLD WIGAN

Started by: albert digby (1)

After traveling the universe, with my mate Dan Dare, for the last 74 years I'm back in my home town.. Sadly Aunty Anastasia has passed away but I don't appear to have aged at all?? Must be traveling faster than the speed of light for so long I've gone back in time As H.G. WELLS predicted. Must say I didn't recognise the town that I left. Only the Parish Church has remained the same. Most of the old pubs have gone or changed their names All the Cinemas have gone, as well as the Hippodrome, and the Market Hall. Even my old school St Georges and the Grammar School have now changed from being schools... Maybe it's time to do some more Space traveling.. Nothing here for me anymore..

Digby, What's happened to Professor Jocelyn Peabody???? Is the MEKON still around? When I was young back in the early/mid 50's I had a lot of Eagle and Dan Dare stuff, books, toys, clothing. I remember I had a Dan Dare Wind Jammer and a Dan Dare belt and braces.. Which I got as presents at Christmas and Birthdays.. Wish I had kept it all. It's worth a fortune now.. I do have over 300 Eagle comics Starting from the second issue in April 1950. Pity I don't have the first issue.. That's worth a few bob..

If the thread had been edited before 3.31 you'd have known Albert (or his alter ego) wasn't bullsh#tting about time traveling

Well ..............

What about all of these UFO's which governments have now admitted exist, but they say that they don't know what they are.

But are the UFO's time travellers from our own future ?

Einstein theorised, and now scientists have proved that it is possible to travel forward in time, Professor Stephen Hawking theorised that traveling back in time may also be possible, so don't knock the possibility of time travel, but what about if someone from the future alters the past, creating a temporal paradox, i.e. if a person went back in time and killed their parents, would they then cease to exist in both the future and at the moment of the crime in the present would they disappear ?

Chesh, how can you not believe in , life on other planets when, The Earth is but a grain of sand on the Beach which is Called the Universe and, Even that is only scratching the surface to many eminent Scientists , Its total naivety to think we are the only life, Wake up girl and smell the rocket fuel .

We are not alone,,,,

Well, Tomplum.
We have sent folk to Mars and also to the Moon and thus far no evidence has been found to suggest that there is / was life there. Have you have any proof to back up your "We are not alone" theory?

Cheshire Cat

"Mars and also to the Moon and thus far no evidence has been found to suggest that there is / was life there"

We are a carbon based life form, and need our planet to contain liquid water for us to 'live' and for a planet to contain liquid water it has to be in the Goldilocks' zone around a Sun, a point where water is liquid, not to hot, not to cold, not too hot or cold, just like the perfect porridge in the Goldilocks story.

Yoo might not believe me, left wing puss, but you will believe Elton John.

"Mars ain't the kind of place to raise your kids
In fact, it's cold as hell
And there's no one there to raise them if you did
And all the science, I don't understand
"

Mars is to cold for carbon based life, and it is to small, and as result of that it's atmosphere is not dense enough to block out Solar Radiation, so that also prevents carbon based life from existing there, and for THAT reason, I don't think they will ever find evidence of life ever existing in the past on Mars

The Sun is just a star and has 8 planets, one is the Earth, Astronomers believe there are more stars than all the grains of sand on Earth, if some of the stars have planets, it seems obvious that there must be lots of other planets that are similar to Earth. The nearest star to earth though may be 4 light years away, so I can't see us getting any visitors just yet. But.

It is quite possible that there are alternative species to us. But until there is some concrete evidence put on the table by the worlds most eminent scientists then it will continue to be dismissed as hogwash.
In the meantime we'll have to put up with the opinions and speculations of a couple this forums expert astronomers

The theological elements, and the stories told, in the Abrahamic Religions are recycled versions of those which previously existed, particularly in Zoroastrianism.

If you want archaeology, you need to seek it in Persia, and at a much earlier period.

But you are the one claiming to ignore them, doing the exact opposite, constantly demanding their attention and at the same time letting them live rent free in your `yed.

Not quite sure how thick you think you consider yourself to be BB but given your ongoing behaviour I would suggest its MORE than an average pit prop........SUBSTANTIALLY more
